A Certain Ratio is an English post-punk band formed in 1977 in Greater Manchester. The original lineup included Peter Terrell (guitar), Simon Topping (vocals, trumpet), Jez Kerr (bass guitar, vocals), Martin Moscrop (trumpet, guitar), and Donald Johnson (drums). The band was among the first to blend post-punk with funk and Latin rhythms. Their debut album, "The Graveyard and the Ballroom," was released in 1980. Notable albums include "Sextet" (1982) and "Force" (1986). The band continues to create and perform, releasing their twelfth studio album, "It All Comes Down to This," in 2024.
