Abscess was an American death metal band from Oakland, California, active between 1994 and 2010. The group was founded by Chris Reifert and Danny Coralles, former members of Autopsy. Their discography includes albums such as "Seminal Vampires and Maggot Men" (1996), "Through the Cracks of Death" (2002), "Horrorhammer" (2007), and "Dawn of Inhumanity" (2010). Abscess combined elements of death metal, death-doom, and hardcore punk. After disbanding in 2010, the members returned to Autopsy.
