Aida Garifullina is a Russian lyric soprano of Tatar descent, born in 1987 in Kazan. She studied at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts and won first prize at the 2013 Operalia competition. Since then, she has performed at leading opera houses, including the Vienna State Opera, La Scala, and the Metropolitan Opera. In 2017, she released her debut album with Decca Records, which received the ECHO Klassik award. In 2018, she performed at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in a duet with Robbie Williams.
