Alphonse Mouzon was an American drummer and composer, recognized as a pioneer of jazz-rock fusion music. In 1971, he was a member of the inaugural lineup of Weather Report. He later collaborated with artists such as Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, and Wayne Shorter. His notable albums include "The Essence of Mystery" (1973), "Mind Transplant" (1975), and "In Search of a Dream" (1978).
