Anekdoten is a Swedish progressive rock band composed of guitarist and vocalist Nicklas Barker, cellist and keyboardist Anna Sofi Dahlberg, bassist and vocalist Jan Erik Liljeström, and drummer Peter Nordins. The band is notable for their use of the mellotron and a heavy sound dominated by a pounding bass guitar. Their music is associated with the tradition of 1970s progressive rock, particularly influenced by King Crimson. Significant albums include "Vemod" (1993), "Nucleus" (1995), "From Within" (1999), and "Gravity" (2003). In 2015, former The Church guitarist Marty Willson-Piper joined them on tour.
