Anja Lechner is a German cellist renowned for her versatility and ability to transcend musical genres. She studied under Heinrich Schiff and János Starker and was a founding member of the Rosamunde Quartett, with whom she performed for 18 years. Lechner has collaborated with prominent composers such as Tigran Mansurian, Valentin Silvestrov, and Tõnu Kõrvits, who have composed works for her. Her discography includes over twenty albums for ECM Records, including "Bach – Abel – Hume" (2024), "Lontano" (2020), and "Schubert: Die Nacht" (2018). Lechner has also worked with Argentine bandoneonist Dino Saluzzi and French pianist François Couturier.
