Anne Phillips is an American singer, songwriter, and producer, best known for her 1959 debut album "Born to Be Blue." Throughout her career, she collaborated with artists such as Burt Bacharach, Carole King, and Mahalia Jackson. In addition to singing, she arranged and produced music for national commercials. In 1985, she created the jazz opera "Bending Towards the Light – A Jazz Nativity," performed annually in New York. Together with her husband, saxophonist Bob Kindred, she founded the non-profit organization Kindred Spirits, supporting educational programs for inner-city children.
