Anthony Braxton is an American experimental composer, musician, and educator, renowned for his proficiency on saxophones, particularly the alto saxophone. Born in 1945 in Chicago, he was a key member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM). In 1969, he released "For Alto," the first full-length album of solo saxophone music. Throughout his career, Braxton has produced hundreds of recordings and compositions, spanning genres such as avant-garde jazz and experimental music. He has been awarded a MacArthur Fellowship and is recognized for his contributions to contemporary music.
