Antje Weithaas is a German violinist born in 1966 in Guben, Germany. She studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin. In 1987, she won the Kreisler Competition in Graz, in 1988 the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig, and in 1991 the International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in Hannover. She has served as a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts and, since 2004, at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler". Weithaas plays a 2001 violin crafted by Stefan-Peter Greiner. She has performed with orchestras such as the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and BBC Symphony Orchestra. She is a member of the Arcanto Quartet alongside Daniel Sepec, Tabea Zimmermann, and Jean-Guihen Queyras. Her recordings include works by Béla Bartók, Johannes Brahms, and Claude Debussy.
