Arthur Prysock was an American jazz and R&B singer known for his deep baritone voice. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he began his career in the 1940s as the lead vocalist for Buddy Johnson's band. In the 1950s, he embarked on a solo career, recording hits like "I Didn't Sleep a Wink Last Night." In the 1960s, he collaborated with Count Basie on the album "Arthur Prysock and Count Basie." In the 1970s, he achieved success with the disco hit "When Love Is New." Throughout his career, he received two Grammy nominations and, in 1995, was honored with the Pioneer Award from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation.
