Asia is an English rock supergroup formed in London in 1981. The original lineup consisted of John Wetton (King Crimson, Uriah Heep, U.K.), Steve Howe (Yes), Geoff Downes (Yes, The Buggles), and Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake & Palmer). Their 1982 debut album, "Asia," reached number one in several countries and featured the hit "Heat of the Moment." Subsequent albums "Alpha" (1983) and "Astra" (1985) solidified their position in the progressive rock genre. The band underwent several lineup changes, with Geoff Downes remaining the only constant member. Asia is known for their contributions to progressive rock and AOR.
