Atrophy is an American thrash metal band from Tucson, Arizona, formed in 1986. After releasing "Socialized Hate" (1988) and "Violent by Nature" (1990), the band disbanded in 1993. They returned in 2024 with "Asylum," their first album in 34 years, released on March 15, 2024, under Massacre Records. This album features a new lineup with original vocalist Brian Zimmerman and new members: guitarists Mark Coglan and Nathan Montalvo, bassist Josh Gibbs, and drummer Jonas Schütz.
