Avenger is an English heavy metal band from Newcastle upon Tyne, associated with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. The band formed in 1982 following the dissolution of their previous group, Blitzkrieg, which included Brian Ross, Mick Moore, and Gary Young. After releasing the single "Too Wild to Tame" in 1983, Ross left to join the band Satan, and Ian Swift took over as vocalist. Avenger released two studio albums: "Blood Sports" (1984) and "Killer Elite" (1985). The band disbanded in 1986 but reunited in 2005. Their music is characterized by fast guitar riffs and energetic vocals typical of 1980s heavy metal. The products available from the artist Avenger include CDs.
