Balka Sound was a musical group from Congo-Brazzaville, led by vocalist and ngonfi player Nkibi "Lusialala" Albert. The band combined traditional balka rhythms of the Beembe people with electric guitars, bass guitar, and drums, creating a unique musical style. Their debut album, "Le 1er son du Balka, Lusialala et ses amis," was recorded in 1979. This was followed by "Tu Kine Balka" (1982) and "Afro Musik Creation" (1984). The group drew inspiration from traditional folk tales and parables, aiming to revive dying folk traditions. In the 1990s, their activities were interrupted by political unrest in the country.
