Bauhaus is an English rock band formed in 1978 in Northampton. Considered pioneers of gothic rock, their 1979 debut single "Bela Lugosi's Dead" is regarded as one of the first gothic rock recordings. Their studio albums include "In the Flat Field" (1980), "Mask" (1981), "The Sky's Gone Out" (1982), and "Burning from the Inside" (1983). The band disbanded in 1983 but reunited several times, most recently in 2019. Their music combines elements of post-punk, gothic rock, and art rock.
