Be-Bop Deluxe was an English rock band formed in 1972 in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England, by vocalist and guitarist Bill Nelson. The band was active until 1978 and released five studio albums: "Axe Victim" (1974), "Futurama" (1975), "Sunburst Finish" (1976), "Modern Music" (1976), and "Drastic Plastic" (1978). Their musical style encompassed art rock, progressive rock, and pop rock. Their most successful single, "Ships in the Night," reached number 23 on the UK Singles Chart. After the band's dissolution, Bill Nelson continued his musical career with the project Bill Nelson's Red Noise and later as a solo artist.
