Benny Andersson is a Swedish musician and composer, known as a member of ABBA and co-author of the musicals "Chess" and "Mamma Mia!". He began his career in the 1960s with the band Hep Stars. After ABBA disbanded in 1982, he continued collaborating with Björn Ulvaeus on various projects. In 2001, he founded Benny Anderssons Orkester, focusing on Swedish folk music. He has received numerous awards, including membership in the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and an honorary doctorate from Stockholm University.
