Billy Paul, born Paul Williams on December 1, 1934, in Philadelphia, was an American soul singer best known for his 1972 hit "Me and Mrs. Jones." His album "360 Degrees of Billy Paul" achieved gold status. Throughout his career, he released over twenty albums, including "Ebony Woman" and "Going East." He was associated with the Philadelphia soul sound created by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Paul won a Grammy for "Me and Mrs. Jones" and was inducted into the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame in 2008. He passed away on April 24, 2016, at the age of 81.
