Brother Dege, born David John Legg, was an American singer, songwriter, and musician from Lafayette, Louisiana. He was known for his unique style that blended delta blues with elements of southern rock and folk. His 2010 album, "Folk Songs of the American Longhair," featured the track "Too Old to Die Young," which was selected by Quentin Tarantino for the film "Django Unchained." Throughout his career, he released several other albums, including "How to Kill a Horse" (2013) and "Farmer's Almanac" (2018). He passed away on March 8, 2024, at the age of 56.
