Byron Schenkman is an American harpsichordist and pianist specializing in historically informed performance of Baroque music. Co-founder and artistic director of the Seattle Baroque Orchestra, Schenkman has recorded over 30 albums, including works by Couperin, Bach, and Scarlatti. His interpretations are noted for their precision and authenticity, often performed on period instruments. He has collaborated with esteemed ensembles such as the Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra and the New York Collegium. Schenkman is also an active educator, teaching at various universities and leading masterclasses on historical performance practices.
