Cabaret Voltaire is an English music group formed in 1973 in Sheffield. Originally composed of Stephen Mallinder, Richard H. Kirk, and Chris Watson, the band is known for its pioneering approach to electronic music and is considered one of the most influential British electronic acts of the last 50 years. Notable albums include "Mix-Up" (1979), "Red Mecca" (1981), and "The Crackdown" (1983). After Watson's departure in 1981, Mallinder and Kirk continued as a duo until 1994. Kirk revived the band's name in 2009, releasing several albums until his death in 2021. In 2025, Mallinder and Watson announced a 50th-anniversary concert in Sheffield.
