Charlie Benante is an American musician, best known as the drummer for the thrash metal band Anthrax and the crossover thrash group Stormtroopers of Death. He is recognized as a pioneer of double bass drumming and for popularizing blast beats in thrash metal. With Anthrax, he has released eleven studio albums and serves as the band's primary composer. In 2021, he released a solo album titled "Silver Linings," featuring covers of his favorite songs recorded during the pandemic with various musicians.
