Christophe Rousset is a French harpsichordist and conductor, renowned for his specialization in Baroque music. He studied at the Schola Cantorum in Paris and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. In 1991, he founded the ensemble Les Talens Lyriques, focusing on the performance of Baroque, Classical, and early Romantic works. Rousset has recorded the complete harpsichord works of composers such as Louis and François Couperin, Rameau, and J.S. Bach. His recordings are considered benchmarks in historically informed performance. Additionally, he is an active educator, conducting masterclasses across Europe.
