Christy Doran is a jazz guitarist born in Dublin in 1949 and raised in Lucerne, Switzerland. In the 1970s, he founded the group OM with Fredy Studer, Urs Leimgruber, and Bobby Burri, recording for ECM Records. Doran is known for his experimental approach to jazz guitar, drawing inspiration from Jimi Hendrix and free jazz. Notable albums include "Harsh Romantics" (1984), "Red Twist & Tuned Arrow" (1987), and "Race the Time" (1997). He has collaborated with artists such as Ray Anderson, Han Bennink, and Robert Dick.
