Chvrches is a Scottish synth-pop band from Glasgow, formed in September 2011. The band consists of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook, and Martin Doherty. Their debut album, "The Bones of What You Believe", was released in September 2013 and included singles like "The Mother We Share" and "Recover". They subsequently released "Every Open Eye" (2015), "Love Is Dead" (2018), and "Screen Violence" (2021). Their music blends synth-pop, electropop, and indie pop. The band has collaborated with artists such as Matt Berninger of The National and Robert Smith of The Cure. In 2013, they won the Grulke Prize at the SXSW festival.
