Cloven Hoof is an English heavy metal band from Wolverhampton, active from 1979 to 1990 and again from 2000 onwards. They are associated with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. Their third studio album, "A Sultan's Ransom" from 1989, is considered a genre classic. The band has undergone numerous lineup changes, with bassist Lee Payne being the only constant member.
