Cortex is a French jazz-funk band formed in 1974 by Alain Mion. Their 1975 debut album, "Troupeau Bleu," has achieved cult status and has been frequently sampled by hip-hop artists such as MF DOOM and Tyler, the Creator. The band released several other albums, including "Vol. 2" (1977) and "Pourquoi" (1978). After disbanding in 1981, Cortex reunited in 2009 and continues to create music to this day.
