Cristian Măcelaru is a Romanian conductor born in 1980 in Timișoara. He studied violin at the Interlochen Arts Academy and later pursued conducting at Rice University. In 2020, he became the music director of the Orchestre National de France. His notable recordings include "Enescu: Symphonies Nos. 1–3; 2 Romanian Rhapsodies" and "Saint-Saëns: Complete Symphonies".
