Daggerboard is a jazz ensemble from California's Bay Area, led by percussionist and composer Gregory Howe and trumpeter and composer Erik Jekabson. Formed in 2018, the group is known for its atmospheric and genre-blending approach to post-bop jazz and fusion. Their debut album, "The Last Days of Studio A," was recorded in 2018 at Fantasy Studios just before its closure and released in 2021. In 2022, they collaborated with bassist Henry "The Skipper" Franklin on the album "Daggerboard & The Skipper." In 2024, they released "Escapement," featuring drummer Mike Clark and other notable musicians. The ensemble is recognized for its innovative arrangements and ability to merge various musical styles.
