Daniel Ottensamer is an Austrian clarinetist and, since 2009, the principal clarinetist of the Vienna Philharmonic. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Johann Hindler. As a soloist, he has performed with renowned orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, and NHK Symphony Orchestra, under conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Gustavo Dudamel, and Andris Nelsons. He is a founding member of the ensembles The Clarinotts and Philharmonix. Notable recordings include the 2023 album "Nielsen - Grieg" and "The Clarinet Trio Anthology" from 2022.
