Daniil Trifonov is a Russian pianist and composer, born in 1991 in Nizhny Novgorod. He studied at the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow and later at the Cleveland Institute of Music under Sergei Babayan. In 2011, he won first place at both the International Tchaikovsky Competition and the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition. His 2016 album "Transcendental," featuring the complete études of Franz Liszt, earned him a Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo Performance. In 2024, he released "My American Story – North," an album showcasing works by American composers such as George Gershwin and Aaron Copland.
