Delain is a Dutch symphonic metal band formed in 2002 by former Within Temptation keyboardist Martijn Westerholt. Their debut album, "Lucidity," was released in 2006 and featured collaborations with several well-known musicians. This was followed by "April Rain" (2009), "We Are the Others" (2012), and "The Human Contradiction" (2014). The band is known for its symphonic metal style and has collaborated with artists such as Marko Hietala from Nightwish. In 2021, the band underwent lineup changes, with Westerholt continuing the project with new and former members. In 2023, they released the album "Dark Waters."
