Depeche Mode is a British electronic band formed in 1980 in Basildon. The original lineup included Dave Gahan (lead vocals), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals, chief songwriter), Andy Fletcher (keyboards), and Vince Clarke (keyboards). Clarke departed in 1981, replaced by Alan Wilder, who remained until 1995. Notable albums include "Violator" (1990) and "Songs of Faith and Devotion" (1993). The band is known for hits like "Enjoy the Silence" and "Personal Jesus". In 2020, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
