DEVO is an American band from Akron, Ohio, formed in 1973 by brothers Mark and Bob Mothersbaugh and Gerald and Bob Casale. The band became famous for its unconventional approach to rock music, introducing elements of punk, new wave, and electronics. Their debut album, "Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!", released in 1978, received critical acclaim. In 1980, they released "Freedom of Choice" featuring the hit "Whip It." The band disbanded in 1991 and reformed in 1996. DEVO is considered a pioneer of the new wave genre and is known for its conceptual and satirical music.
