Eddie Floyd is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter known for his work with Stax Records in the 1960s and 1970s. He began his career as a member of The Falcons, collaborating with Wilson Pickett. At Stax, he gained fame with the hit "Knock on Wood," co-written with Steve Cropper. Other notable songs include "I've Never Found a Girl (To Love Me Like You Do)" and "Raise Your Hand." Floyd also wrote songs for artists like Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding. He was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2018.
