Elán is a Slovak pop rock band formed in 1968 in Bratislava by Jožo Ráž, Vašo Patejdl, Juraj Farkaš, and Zdeno Baláž. In the 1980s, they became one of the most popular Czechoslovak bands, releasing ten successful albums between 1981 and 1991. Their well-known songs include "Zanedbaný sex," "Sestrička z Kramárov," and "Voda, čo ma drží nad vodou." The band has received several awards, including Slávik and Zlatý slavík. In 2007, they sold out a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York. Current members are Jožo Ráž, Ján Baláž, Peter Farnbauer, Ľubo Horňák, and Štefan Bugala.
