Eric Lu is an American pianist born in 1997 in Massachusetts. He gained international attention as a laureate of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in 2015 at the age of 17. In 2018, he won first prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition. Lu has performed with major orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Boston Symphony Orchestra. His recordings for Warner Classics include works by Chopin, Schumann, and Schubert. Lu is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied under Jonathan Biss and Robert McDonald.
