Europe is a Swedish rock band formed in 1979 in Upplands Väsby. The current lineup consists of Joey Tempest (vocals), John Norum (guitar), John Levén (bass), Mic Michaeli (keyboards), and Ian Haugland (drums). The band is known for the hit "The Final Countdown" from the 1986 album of the same name. Other notable albums include "Out of This World" (1988) and "Walk the Earth" (2017). Their musical style encompasses hard rock, glam metal, and heavy metal. Europe won the Rockbjörnen award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Group in 2015, and their song "The Final Countdown" reached one billion views on YouTube in 2022.
