Floyd Cramer was an American pianist renowned for his distinctive "slip-note" style that influenced country and pop music. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, he grew up in Huttig, Arkansas, where he taught himself to play the piano by ear. After high school, he began his career on the Louisiana Hayride, accompanying artists like Elvis Presley. In 1955, he moved to Nashville and became a key member of the "Nashville A-Team," recording with artists such as Patsy Cline and Roy Orbison. His solo career featured hits like "Last Date" (1960) and "On the Rebound" (1961). In 2003, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
