Fugazi is an American post-hardcore band formed in 1986 in Washington, D.C. The band consisted of Ian MacKaye (vocals, guitar), Guy Picciotto (vocals, guitar), Joe Lally (bass guitar), and Brendan Canty (drums). They are known for their DIY approach and refusal to work with major record labels. Their most notable albums include "Repeater" (1990), "Steady Diet of Nothing" (1991), "In on the Kill Taker" (1993), and "Red Medicine" (1995). The band is considered a significant influence in the post-hardcore genre. In 2003, they announced an indefinite hiatus and have not released new material since.
