Gram Parsons was an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born in 1946 in Winter Haven, Florida. He was a member of the International Submarine Band, The Byrds, and The Flying Burrito Brothers, where he popularized "Cosmic American Music," a hybrid of country, rhythm and blues, soul, folk, and rock. His solo albums "GP" and "Grievous Angel" are considered seminal works in the country rock genre. Parsons collaborated with Emmylou Harris and influenced numerous artists in both country and rock music. He passed away in 1973 in Joshua Tree, California.
