Hanakiv is an Estonian composer and pianist who creates meditative, piano-based music incorporating elements of classical and electronic genres. Her debut album, "Goodbyes," was released on March 10, 2023, by Gondwana Records and features guest artist Alabaster DePlume. The album draws from diverse influences, including Tim Hecker, Björk, Kara-Lis Coverdale, Arvo Pärt, Erkki-Sven Tüür, and Aphex Twin, as well as her own cultural heritage. Hanakiv grew up in a musical family; her grandmother was a piano teacher and choir conductor. She studied composition at the Estonian Academy of Music and later pursued electroacoustic composition in Reykjavik. After moving to London, she found the freedom to create her own music, drawing inspiration from Estonia's natural landscapes and London's urban environment.
