Harold Vick was an American jazz saxophonist and flutist, known for his work in the soul-jazz and hard bop genres. Born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, he began playing the clarinet at age 13 before switching to the tenor saxophone. Throughout his career, he collaborated with notable musicians such as Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, and Big John Patton. In 1963, he released his debut album "Steppin' Out!" on the Blue Note label, featuring Blue Mitchell, Grant Green, John Patton, and Ben Dixon. Vick also recorded for RCA Victor and Strata-East, with his discography including albums like "The Caribbean Suite" and "Don't Look Back". He passed away in 1987 in New York City.
