Helmet is an American alternative metal band from New York City, formed in 1989 by vocalist and lead guitarist Page Hamilton. The band is known for its unique sound that blends alternative metal, post-hardcore, and noise rock. Their second album, "Meantime" (1992), achieved gold status in the U.S. and features the hit "Unsung". Subsequent albums "Betty" (1994) and "Aftertaste" (1997) also garnered success.
