cd - Hipsway

Hipsway is a Scottish pop and new wave band formed in Glasgow in 1984. The original lineup consisted of Johnny McElhone (bass), Grahame Skinner (vocals), Pim Jones (guitar), and Harry Travers (drums). Their 1986 debut album, "Hipsway," featured the single "The Honeythief," which reached number 17 on the UK Singles Chart and entered the US Billboard Hot 100. Another track, "Tinder," became well-known in Scotland due to its use in a McEwan's Lager commercial. After releasing their second album, "Scratch the Surface," in 1989, the band disbanded. Hipsway reunited in 2016 and released the album "Smoke & Dreams" in 2018.
