Insania is a crossover/post-hardcore music band from Brno, Czech Republic. Founded in 1987, their activity was halted by the StB in 1988, leading them to perform under the name Skimmed. After the Velvet Revolution, they released the LP New Insanity in 1990, one of the first independent records in Czechoslovakia. In 1994, they released the CD Crossfade, achieving success abroad. Their albums Rock’n’Freud (2007) and Zapal dům poraž strom... (2013) won the Anděl award. Their latest album, GRRRotesky (2022), won the “Rock Album of the Year” Anděl award. Their music combines influences from bands like Faith No More, Rammstein, and Marilyn Manson with a bold vocal style resembling a dark preacher.
