Born on February 5, 1934, in Dalton, Georgia, he began his musical career in local country bands and later transitioned to rockabilly after witnessing an Elvis Presley performance. In the 1950s, he released singles such as "Ruby Pearl" and "Hip Shakin' Mama". During the 1970s, he experienced a career revival due to European interest in rockabilly, releasing several albums and touring Europe. He passed away on March 15, 1998, in Burbank, California.
