Jan Delay, born Jan Phillip Eißfeldt, is a German musician known for his involvement with the groups Absolute Beginner and La Boom. As a solo artist, he has released albums such as "Searching for the Jan Soul Rebels" (2001), "Mercedes-Dance" (2006), "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Soul" (2009), "Hammer & Michel" (2014), and "Earth, Wind & Feiern" (2021). His musical style encompasses hip-hop, reggae, dub, and funk. In 1997, he co-founded the independent hip-hop label Eimsbush. He performed with his band Disko No.1 at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 final in Düsseldorf. His distinctive features include a nasal voice and frequent wearing of hats and sunglasses.
