Jaromír Nohavica is a Czech folk singer, songwriter, and lyricist. He began his career writing lyrics for other artists, including Marie Rottrová. In 1988, he released his debut album "Darmoděj". Notable albums include "Mikymauzoleum" (1993) and "Divné století" (1996). Nohavica collaborated with the band Čechomor and starred in the 2002 film "Rok ďábla". In 2017, he was awarded the Medal of Merit in the field of arts. His work is influenced by Russian singer-songwriters Vladimir Vysotsky and Bulat Okudzhava.
