Jess Gillam is a British saxophonist and BBC Radio 3 presenter from Ulverston, Cumbria. In 2016, she became the first saxophonist to reach the finals of the BBC Young Musician competition. In 2018, she was the youngest soloist to perform at the Last Night of the Proms. Her debut album "Rise" in 2019 reached No.1 in the UK Classical charts. In 2021, she was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to music. Gillam is known for her eclectic programming and collaborations with various composers and musicians.
